The Pickled Parrot Providore features locally sourced fruit and veg and locally produced gourmet products (as well as all the grocery essentials) in our General Store in beautiful Khancoban — a Snowy Mountains town steeped in history and full of personality.

We stock our shelves as much as we can from within a 100 mile radius — helping you keep your food miles down. We are serious about supporting our local producers and use as many local products as we can in the dishes of our Cafe menu.

We have paper bags for groceries — no plastic! We actively promote the use of eco friendly packaging in the The Pickled Parrot Providore Café, make every effort to reduce our waste — feeding the local chooks and composting organic scraps.

Where we can’t source products locally, we will stock the most sustainably produced stock available.

The Pickled Parrot Providore coffee beans are roasted locally and our delicious brew is a good reason to stop and take a moment in our welcoming space. Khancoban is a small friendly country town and a great base for exploring spectacular Kosciuszko National Park. You can enjoy bushwalking, mountain biking, fishing and other adventures. In the skiing and snowboarding season, the Thredbo snowfields are only 85 minutes’ drive away. Australia’s largest monolith, Pine Mountain is just 1 hour from the Pickled Parrot.

Offering local produce, grocery essentials and a delicious dine-in café featuring locally roasted coffee, The Pickled Parrot Providore is a great place for a break, to stock up your supplies or as a meeting place for travellers. It’s a popular stop on the Alpine Way, where the Snowy Valleys Way and The Great River Road meet.
